  2. 'Mum too nervous to watch'published at 22:57 4 May

    Result: Bingham 12-17 Jones

More from Jak Jones, on his mother being too nervous to watch his matches:

"My mum doesn't watch - she's driven me around everywhere but she doesn't have the thirst to watch.

"Even in junior finals, she would never watch, she'd do something to take her mind off it."

  3. 'There was nothing left in me'published at 22:56 4 May

    Result: Bingham 12-17 Jones

Beaten semi-finalist Stuart Bingham on his brilliant yellow pot followed by a failed snooker on the green: "That summed up everything that was happening. Great yellow, but everything was awkward all match.

"Everything was hard work today. Too many mistakes cost me big time.

"Jak didn't really have to work hard to get in. He's a great cueist, very calm, got a bit jittery at the end but there was nothing left in me."

  4. 'I don't think I'm playing well - but I'm winning'published at 22:53 4 May

    Result: Bingham 12-17 Jones

More from World finalist Jak Jones on BBC Two:

"It's not been easy to get here. There are a lot of good players on the Tour and I haven't made a quarter-final all season and I didn't really come here with any confidence or sharpness.

"I don't think I'm playing well - I'm just winning. I'm not doing anything exceptional at all - I'm not scoring heavy really - I'm making 60s or 70s but I'm not doing anything special. If you keep winning those [tight] frames, they are big and they hurt your opponent."

  5. 'I just didn't enjoy it out there'published at 22:51 4 May

    Result: Bingham 12-17 Jones

Stuart Bingham speaking to BBC Two after his defeat by Jak Jones: "It was embarassing really.

"I must have given eight frames away. I must have missed eight or nine blacks off the spot. I'm very disappointed after playing like I did against Ronnie. Just didn't enjoy it out there."

  6. 'It doesn't really feel real'published at 22:49 4 May

    Result: Bingham 12-17 Jones

World Championship finalist Jak Jones, speaking on BBC Two:

"When I think of watching the World Championship final every year, thinking it's a dream and what an unbelievable occasion it is, it doesn't really feel real that I'm in that World final!

"But I am - and I couldn't be any happier."

  7. 'He does everything well'published at 22:45 4 May

    Bingham 12-17 Jones

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Two

Jak Jones was very, very impressive.

The turning point was the frame where Stuart Bingham made the mistake of not getting the snooker.

But from that point there was only one winner - Jak just got stronger and stronger, and Stuart got weaker and weaker.

Jak has been unflappable and has found an answer for whoever he's played. He does nothing unbelievably - but he does everything well.

    Breaking

    Bingham 12-17 Jones

The fairytale continues for the 30-year-old Welshman.

A rousing ovation for both players, but particularly the underdog Jak Jones who can surely scarcely believe what is happening to him.

The world number 44 will face Kyren Wilson in the final - a final we all confidently predicted a fortnight ago, right?

Yep, the Welshman is mopping up the remainder of the table after that scare, he's in the final!

  11. Postpublished at 22:39 4 May

    Bingham 12-16 Jones

    Goodness me, it's all happening.

Jak Jones almost misses a straightforward red in the corner but it struggles in, and that should be that.

  12. Postpublished at 22:38 4 May

    Bingham 12-16 Jones

Stuart Bingham increases those Jak Jones butterflies ever so slightly with a lovely cut on a red - but he is well off target with the subsequent brown.

Might have been some noise in the crowd that put him off and the referee is telling off someone.

    Bingham 12-16 Jones

    Ken Doherty
1997 world champion on BBC Two

This is the first we are seeing Crucible nerves from Jak Jones, he's desperate to get over the line and into the final tomorrow.

    He's not there yet.

  14. Postpublished at 22:35 4 May

    Bingham 12-16 Jones

Not sure if Bingham was playing a long pot or a safety - whichever it was, he butchered it either way.

But Jak Jones misses the sort of red he's been potting all match, all tournament.

    Jitters in play?

But Stuart Bingham misses a straight-ish long red that could have started that long comeback road.

And Jak Jones re-engages defensive mode, putting reds safe and protecting his four-frame and 51-point lead.

  16. 'That was the shot'published at 22:32 4 May

    Bingham 12-16 Jones

    Dennis Taylor

He cued across that one. That was the shot that would have put him into the final, you'd have to say.

  17. Postpublished at 22:32 4 May

    Bingham 12-16 Jones

He's gone a bit far on the next red, mind. Having to use the rest... and he misses it!

Lifeline of sorts for Stuart Bingham but a long way back - in this frame and the match.

Jak Jones picking these reds off so forensically.

The lead is past 50, the winning line is in sight.
